We have two beautiful cottages set in the picturesque Langstrothdale Chase. The valley has the formation of the River Wharfe at its boundary.
Beckermonds is the Norse word for the joining of two streams. You will find excellent brown trout fishing all year round as the fish migrate up the river Wharfe right up to the formation which is found outside our front door! See our virtual tour which has a shot of the river that runs right past the house.
The first of our cottages is East House Farm which was built in 1670 and sleeps 6, the other is the Woods Barn which was built in 1810 and also sleeps 6. Both properties have been extensively modernised and both kitchens have all the modern appliances to help you enjoy a relaxing holiday and the bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas all provide to a high standard. Externally, Woods Barn has a private enclosed walled garden which offers a safe place for children to play and enable visitors to relax and enjoy the views of this special part of Yorkshire.
Fun for children too
Small children are safe in the enclosed garden, but can just as easily run free around the cottages/roast sausages over a camp fire on the river stones, go paddling, catch tiddlers and play Poo sticks on the bridge. Your little ones can also play dressing up with our play box of dressing up clothes.
For the more sporty of our guests, football, rounders or cricket can be played in the paddock beside the river or you can even hunt for fossils, search for wild flowers and bird watch to your heart’s content. Roe deer can be seen venturing out of Greefield forrest and a red squirrel has been spotted on our bird table!
If the weather is bad what better way to relax than to curl up by the real fire -, there are books galore to read indulge in as well as cards and other games to play.
